Fat Burning Spin Routine

Bike Burn

Being a personal trainer, I have to create cardiovascular routines for a wide variety of fitness levels, injuries, muscle imbalances and age brackets.  I often see my clients slacking off when I prescribe time on a stationary bike or elliptical, which is easy to do.    Low impact exercise does not need to mean lame exercise regimens.  Injuries and physical conditions often need to be babied, but you don’t want to lose your progress as you nurse a hurt knee or a fractured foot.  Thankfully there is a number of ways to increase intensity without increasing impact.

Steady state cardiovascular exercises is a great way to nourish your muscles and recover from tough workouts, but to burn fat you need to challenge your body with intervals.  Logging hours a week on a piece of cardio equipment can be a huge waste of time if you are not strategic.

Today I present to you a stationary bike workout that will get your heart pumping and your legs burning!  Turn on your favorite pump up Pandora station and spin your heart out.  This workout is only effective if you challenge yourself.  You will get out what you put in.  You are your own spin instructor, you must motivate yourself.

Increase your fat burn when you step off by completing body weight or weight lifting circuits.  Feel free to repeat the speed interval and climb for a 55 minute cardiovascular shred that will make your legs feel like Jell-O!
